"Give a man a flimsy smock and the briars will claim it by midday; give them stout canvas, and they walk like true knights." Osric, Keeper of the Hearth & Forge
This is a simple heraldic surcoat cut from lightweight cotton and finished in black and yellow, with the Scottish rampant lion across it. It goes over your harness or over a plain tunic and shows your colours in the line.
Cotton breathes, so you'll be glad of it on a hot field once the mail starts holding the heat. It's light enough to wear all day at a muster, a fair or a school history day, and it's just as at home on a first-season recruit as over a full set of plate.
There are two adult sizes, M/L and XL/XXL. The maker supplies a size chart with the product photographs, so check it against your measurements over whatever you'll wear underneath. Packed, it weighs between 0.529 kg and 0.575 kg depending on size.
