Meet Your Counsellor
A Relatable Approach to Healing
I’m Jules, a person-centred counsellor based in Hull.
I believe that the foundation of meaningful change lies in a genuine, non-judgemental relationship. My role is to provide you with a safe, confidential space where you are truly heard and understood. By offering empathy and a compassionate ear, we can build the trust necessary for you to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.
Why I am passionate about therapy
My approach is deeply personal. My own life experiences—the successes, the challenges, and my own mental health journey—have shaped the way I work. Having experienced the transformative power of counselling first-hand, I know how it feels to seek help. This perspective allows me to meet you where you are with a gentle heart and a professional hand.
I consider it a true privilege to witness my clients' journeys and offer guidance, even in moments when hope feels out of reach.
How I Work
Breaking it Down: Manageable Chunks
Big changes start with small steps.
When you are navigating anxiety, depression, loss, or simply feeling "stuck," the road ahead can feel overwhelming. My "go-to" method is to help you break down these complex, heavy issues into manageable steps. We won't try to solve everything at once. Instead, we focus on:
- Gentle Goal-Setting: Identifying what matters most to you right now.
- Human Connection: Building the rapport that serves as the "first rung" on your ladder to recovery.
- Practical Empowerment: Developing healthier coping mechanisms that work for your daily life.
By tackling your challenges piece by piece, you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself and the confidence to believe in a brighter, more empowered future.
My training, qualifications & experience
- Level 3 Diploma with Stonebridge College Person Centred
- First Aid in Mental Health
- Member of Accredited Counsellors, Coaches, Psychotherapists & Hypnotherapists (ACCPH)
- Established 2022: 100+ hours of practice

Cancellation & Missed Appointments
I understand that life can be unpredictable and that sometimes, plans need to change. If you are unable to attend your scheduled session, please let me know as soon as possible.
To ensure I can offer the time slot to another client who may be waiting for support, I operate the following policy:
- More than 48 hours' notice: No fee will be charged, and we will do our best to reschedule your session to a more convenient time.
- Less than 48 hours' notice: The full session fee will be payable.
- Missed appointments: If a session is missed without prior notice, the full fee will be charged.
Why do I have this policy?
The therapeutic relationship is built on a commitment of time from both of us. Because I hold a specific hour in my diary exclusively for you, I am unable to fill that space at short notice. This policy helps keep my practice sustainable so that I can continue to provide consistent support to all my clients.
