Counselling In Hull FAQs
Counselling In Hull FAQs
How long does a session last?
Each counselling session lasts for 50 minutes.
This is often referred to as the "therapeutic hour," allowing us enough time to explore what is on your mind while leaving you space to ground yourself before returning to your day.
How many sessions will I need?
Because my approach is person-centred, the length of our work together is entirely up to you.
Some people find that 6 to 12 sessions provide the "manageable chunks" they need to move forward, while others prefer longer-term support.
We will review our progress regularly to ensure you are getting exactly what you need.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is a chance for us to get to know one another. There is no pressure to "dive deep" immediately.
We will discuss what has brought you to counselling, what you hope to achieve, and ensure you feel comfortable with my approach.
It’s as much about you seeing if I am the right fit for you as it is about the therapy itself.
Is everything I say confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is the cornerstone of my practice.
Everything we discuss remains private within our sessions.
There are a few legal and ethical exceptions to this (such as if there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others), which I will explain clearly during our first meeting.
Do you offer online or in-person sessions?
I offer both in-person sessions in Hull and online sessions via a secure video platform .
Online therapy can be a great option if you have a busy schedule or feel more comfortable in your own environment.
How much does it cost?
My fee is £40 per session.
I believe in being transparent about costs so you can plan your therapy journey without any surprises.
