"A bound wrist invites an enemy's blade; true plate protects without stealing your stroke." Osric, Keeper of the Hearth & Forge

Echoing the harness worn by 14th and 15th-century European men-at-arms, these Type-E bracers provide functional forearm defence for both foot soldiers and cavalry. Hand-forged from 16 gauge mild steel and brought to a polished sheen, they offer dependable resilience against blows delivered in martial training, HEMA drills, or theatrical combat.

The Type-E profile is distinguished by its flared lower rim, hammered specifically to allow the wrist unhindered flexion during cuts and parries. Unlike unyielding tubular plate, this thoughtful curvature prevents the steel from biting into your hand when gripping a hilt. Inside, the plate is backed with genuine suede leather, dampening contact against the skin and easing friction during long hours on the field.

Solid steel rivets bind the assembly together, securing adjustable leather straps paired with robust steel buckles. To achieve a proper fit, cinch the straps firmly over an arming doublet or gambeson sleeve to prevent shifting whilst retaining circulation.

As these guards are shaped individually by hand, natural variations in rivet placement, leather shade, and polished finish will occur across each piece. To maintain your plate against the elements, wipe the steel dry following exertion, rub with light oil or wax to ward off rust, and store within a dry garrison. Treat the leather strapping occasionally with conditioner to ensure it remains supple through seasons of campaign use.
